Websites and practical digital support for small businesses.

Affordable, professional websites backed by personal support, straightforward hosting and useful digital tools designed around the way your business actually works.

After eight years working in healthcare, I've built my career on trust. Whether I was caring for patients, creating a website or helping a small business solve a digital problem, my philosophy is the same: listen carefully, communicate clearly and always leave people better off than when they first came to me.

Joshua Biggs, Founder
About me

Hello there.

My name is Joshua Biggs. I run BIGGS DIGITAL, providing affordable websites and practical digital support for small businesses from Brighton, Sussex.

When someone trusts me with a project, they aren't just hiring someone to build a website or install a digital tool — they're choosing someone who genuinely cares about understanding the problem and getting things right.

For the past eight years I've worked as a Registered Nurse, specialising in oncology and cancer care. Throughout my career I've been responsible for making important decisions under pressure, communicating clearly with people during difficult moments, and finding practical solutions to complex problems. Those experiences have shaped how I approach every piece of work I do today.

I've always enjoyed learning new skills. Outside of healthcare, I've spent countless hours teaching myself web design, technology, construction, car mechanics and other practical trades simply because I enjoy understanding how things work and how they can be improved. I'm naturally curious and believe there's always something new to learn.

Creating websites and practical digital tools combines many of the things I enjoy most: problem solving, creativity, attention to detail and helping others succeed.

Whether you're a small business, sole trader, charity or someone starting a new venture, I understand that your website and digital setup can shape how professional, organised and easy to deal with your business feels. My goal is to create websites and practical systems that are clean, modern, easy to use and built around your business — not just a template or one-size-fits-all package.

The values I bring to every project — the same values that guided my healthcare career

  • Honesty
  • Reliability
  • Professionalism
  • Clear communication
  • Attention to detail
  • Treating every client with respect

I believe in building lasting relationships with clients by being approachable, dependable and easy to work with. I'll always explain things clearly, keep you informed throughout the project and make sure you're happy with the finished result.

When I'm not working on BIGGS DIGITAL projects, you'll usually find me reading, learning something new, volunteering within my local community or working on practical projects. I'm a firm believer that every new skill makes us a little better than we were yesterday, and I bring that mindset into every project I undertake.

If you're looking for someone who genuinely cares about your business and can help with a professional website, useful digital tools or straightforward technical support, I'd love to hear from you.

Private Feedback, Without the Booking-System Headache

Private Client Review (PCR) gives the business its own simple dashboard. From there, you can create a unique customer feedback link to send by email or text, or present it as a QR code. No booking-system integration is required.

Customer feedback is received privately first. Where a customer explicitly agrees, genuine feedback can then be selected and published on the website as a customer testimonial. PCR is not presented as a complete public review platform, and customers can still submit private criticism regardless of rating.

Google Review Protection Guard is a separate companion service. Google controls its own review platform, so BIGGS DIGITAL cannot stop somebody from posting a Google review and cannot guarantee that a review will be removed. The Guard instead helps monitor new reviews, flag suspicious patterns, organise relevant evidence, prepare a professional public response and make Google's reporting or escalation process easier to follow.

For genuine criticism, the aim is professional response and service recovery — not suppressing valid customer feedback.

Getting Started

Getting Your Website Online

Once your website is built, you will need somewhere to host it. I provide two separate options you can choose from:

Option 1 Managed Hosting

The hassle-free option. I host your finished website for you on a Biggs Digital subdomain (for example, businessname.biggsdigital.com) — I handle the technical setup myself, so you don't need to arrange anything, and hosting-related technical support is included for as long as your subscription stays active. The £3 monthly subscription covers hosting and hosting-related technical support; changes to your website's content, design or functionality aren't included and may incur an additional charge, which I'll always agree with you before any work begins.

£3/month***
Option 2 Your Own Domain

For those who'd like their own independent domain — businessname.co.uk or businessname.com. You purchase your domain and hosting directly from your chosen provider, and any fees they charge are paid by you. I don't charge extra for the setup guidance: you'll get my existing step-by-step document, that includes a video tutorial, with an accompanying transcript, talking you through purchasing your domain and hosting. This guide also contains further details telling you how to get your finished website online.

Setup guidance included, at no extra cost****

* If you purchased a Basic website and later decide you would like additions to the site after the initial purchase, the additional charge is £10.

** If you purchased an In-depth website and later decide you would like additions to the site after the initial purchase, the additional charge is £20.

*** This is hosting on a Biggs Digital subdomain, not an independently registered domain of your own. If you'd like your own domain (e.g. businessname.co.uk), see Option 2.

**** "At no extra cost" refers to my setup guidance only — the domain and hosting fees charged by your own provider are separate and paid by you. Under this option, eligible future technical-support requests (hosting or setup-related issues) are £5 per individual request — free if raised within the first 14 days of going live, never a monthly charge and never unlimited support. This doesn't apply if there are genuine defects in the website as I delivered it, which I will always put right at no charge, or to requests to change your site's content, design or functionality, which will be quoted and agreed with you before any work begins.

***** Google Review Protection Guard is included at no additional charge where appropriate with Managed Hosting.

How I Work with You

We start with a straightforward conversation about what your business needs. If it's a website, I'll agree a realistic draft timeframe based on the size of the job and my current workload, then show you the proposed site before you commit to buying it. If it's PCR, hosting or another support request, I'll explain the setup, price and any practical requirements before work begins.

For website design, I'll normally send you a preview or video so you can see how the site works and decide whether you want to proceed. If you want changes, we can discuss them; if the design simply isn't right for you, we can part ways without pressure. I would rather agree a realistic delivery window than rush work just to promise the same turnaround regardless of workload.

If you decide to proceed, I'll send you an invoice, payable within 14 days. For website projects, you'll also receive a safe copy of the finished site.

Remote guidance is the standard option. If an in-person appointment would help, the relevant charge is explained before you book it — including the PCR handover prices above and the existing £10 local website setup/support option within 10 miles. Any additional travel charge beyond 10 miles is discussed and agreed with you beforehand.

Keeping You in Control

I would love to support your business long term, but you should never feel trapped into staying with BIGGS DIGITAL just because I built or installed something.

For websites, we'll discuss hosting, platform choices and how future edits can be handled. Where a site can be made easier for you or another provider to maintain later, I'll explain the options rather than deliberately locking you into a system you don't understand.

For PCR and other digital tools, I'll make sure you have the relevant login details, dashboard guidance and a clear understanding of how the system is used. If you later choose to work with someone else, I'll help make the handover as straightforward as the technology reasonably allows.

Either way, my job is to make sure what BIGGS DIGITAL provides works for your business — whether I am in the picture long term or not.

My Work

Don't just take my word for it. Have a look around.

Explore a selection of interactive website demos designed for different types of independent businesses. Each design is created around the individual business rather than built from the same template.

Every example above is a real, interactive website demo you can open and explore for yourself — not a static screenshot. They're shown here to demonstrate the range and individuality of Biggs Digital design work, not as claims about who has or hasn't commissioned a finished site.

Why?

Below are some important why? questions you may be asking yourself, right now.

Click on the drop downs for some useful answers!

Your website is often the first impression your business makes. Whether you run a local shop, a trades business, or offer services within your community, potential customers are likely to search online before making contact. A professional website helps establish trust, showcase your expertise, and make it easier for customers to choose your business with confidence.

A professionally designed website can help you:

  • Promote your products and services 24/7.
  • Reach new customers while keeping existing ones engaged.
  • Build trust and credibility through a professional online presence.
  • Compete effectively with larger, more established businesses.
  • Strengthen your brand and keep your marketing fresh, consistent, and up to date.

The best part is that having a professional website is far more affordable than many people realise. At BIGGS DIGITAL, website design remains my flagship service, but I can also help with hosting, Private Client Review, review support and practical digital problems that affect how your business operates online.

Social media is a powerful way to connect with customers, showcase your work and promote your business. But relying on social media alone can leave your business without a digital home that you truly control.

A professional website gives you ownership, credibility and flexibility, while providing customers with a dedicated place to learn about your business, explore your services and take the next step.

You Don't Own Your Social Media Page

Social media platforms are useful, but ultimately, you're using a space controlled by someone else.

  • Your business is on rented ground – Platform owners control the rules, features and visibility of your page.
  • Algorithms can change – A change to the platform's algorithm can suddenly reduce how many people see your posts.
  • Accounts can be restricted or suspended – Losing access to your account could mean losing an important connection with your customers.
  • Your content is tied to the platform – If the platform changes direction or becomes less popular, your business can be affected too.

With your own website, your online presence isn't dependent on someone else's platform.

A Website Creates a More Professional Presence

Your social media profile has to fit within a template designed for millions of businesses. Your website doesn't.

A professionally designed website allows you to:

  • Build trust and credibility with a dedicated domain and professional online presence.
  • Create a consistent brand identity that reflects your business rather than a social media template.
  • Organise your information clearly, making it easy for customers to find what they need.
  • Showcase your products and services without competing posts, adverts and distractions.
  • Add useful features such as enquiry forms, booking systems, online shops, portfolios and customer areas.

Your website becomes a place where your business can look, feel and operate exactly the way you want it to.

Turn Visitors Into Customers

Social media is designed around engagement — encouraging people to scroll, interact and discover more content. Your website can be designed around something much more important: Getting customers to take action.

Whether that's making an enquiry, booking an appointment, requesting a quote, buying a product or simply picking up the phone, your website can guide visitors towards the next step.

You can also gain valuable insights into how people find and interact with your business, helping you understand what your customers are looking for and where your enquiries are coming from.

Be Found When Customers Are Searching

Social media is excellent for reaching people, but many customers still turn to search engines when they need a particular product or service.

A website gives your business a dedicated platform that can be optimised for search engines, helping potential customers discover you when they're actively looking for what you offer.

For local businesses in particular, a well-structured website can work alongside your Google Business Profile and social media presence to create a much stronger overall online presence.

Social Media + Website = A Stronger Business

It's not about choosing between social media and a website.

Use social media to attract attention. Use your website to build trust and turn that attention into customers.

Your social media profiles can change. Algorithms can change. Platforms can change.

Your website is your digital home — and that's something you control.
